Sports Medicine Conference: Enhancing Trauma Care through Collaboration

We are excited to present an overview of the recent Sports Medicine Conference, a collaborative endeavor between the Region 10 RTAC and UGA Sports Medicine. This dynamic conference aimed to bolster trauma care by bringing together professionals from diverse healthcare backgrounds. We appreciate the support of the University of Georgia and Ron Courson for allowing us to use the Indoor Practice Facility to host the event.

Attendee Engagement:
A total of 162 participants actively engaged in the conference, representing a variety of healthcare sectors.

Collaborative Learning: The event fostered a collaborative learning environment where EMS professionals, athletic trainers, nurses, physicians, and other stakeholders shared insights and expertise.

Expert Involvement: Local trauma physicians and other sports medicine experts were pivotal in the conference, contributing valuable insights and perspectives to elevate trauma care strategies.

Educational Focus: The comprehensive program covered vital topics, including head injuries, orthopedic trauma, vascular injuries, and managing
cardiac arrest on the field.

Hands-On Experience: Participants honed their skills through hands-on practice sessions, ensuring practical knowledge application.

Interdisciplinary Networking: Attendees had the unique opportunity to network and exchange knowledge, enhancing interprofessional collaboration.
